Privacy Policy
LiveDeck Studio is built so that your services, events and media stay on your own computer — no accounts, no tracking and no advertising. This page also explains the little we process when you buy a licence on this website.
1. Who we are
LiveDeck Studio (“LiveDeck”, “the app”) is developed by Shamaapps, based in Kumasi, Ghana (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app and when you use this website to buy or manage a licence. It does not cover the websites or services of other companies that you choose to connect LiveDeck to — those have their own privacy policies.
2. Information the app collects
The one exception is licence activation in the direct-download edition (see section 3): when you enter a licence key, the app sends the key, a hashed machine identifier, a name for the computer that you can edit, the platform and the app version to our licence server so we can count activations. Nothing about your productions is included.
If you email us for support, we receive only what you choose to send (such as your email address and your message) and use it only to reply to you.
3. Website, orders and licences
When you buy a licence on this website we process the minimum needed to sell and support it:
| What | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, organisation (optional), country | To issue the licence, email the key and download links, and answer support requests | Our database on the web host, for as long as the licence is valid |
| Order reference, product, USD amount, GHS amount and exchange rate, payment status, payment channel, IP address and browser identifier at checkout | To fulfil the order, prevent fraud and keep the accounting records the law requires | Our database; accounting records for the statutory period |
| Licence key, seats, activation records (hashed machine identifier, computer name, platform, app version, last seen) | To enforce the number of activations you purchased and let you manage them | Our database, until you deactivate or the licence is revoked |
| Download counts per release | Aggregate statistics only | Our database |
| Contact-form messages | To reply to you | Our database; deleted on request |
Payments are processed by Paystack. Your card number, mobile-money or bank details go directly to Paystack and never reach our servers; we receive a confirmation of the payment, its amount and the channel used. Emails (licence delivery, sign-in links, receipts) are sent from our own mail server. Sign-in links for “Find my licence” are single-use tokens valid for 30 minutes. This website sets a session cookie needed for checkout and account pages and uses no analytics or advertising cookies.
4. Information stored on your computer
To work, LiveDeck saves the following on your computer only. We cannot see it.
| What | Examples | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Your productions | Shows, presets, inputs, overlays, scenes, looks, playlists, automation cues, stage-display messages | The app's library folder |
| Content libraries | Songs, Bibles you install or import, dictionary slides, AI-search history, downloaded or imported backgrounds and media | The app's library folder |
| Recordings and snapshots | Video files, chapter-marker files, still images | The folder you choose (Movies / Videos by default) |
| Settings | Output, audio, streaming and display settings, stream destinations and stream keys, keyboard shortcuts, network station name, licence key | App preferences on your computer |
| Secrets | API keys for AI providers, Zoom SDK key and secret | macOS Keychain / Windows Credential Manager |
| File permissions | Secure bookmarks that let the app reopen files you selected (Mac App Store edition) | App preferences |
| Session recovery | An automatic copy of your current setup, saved every minute | The app's library folder |
If you back up your computer with Time Machine, iCloud Drive, OneDrive or File History, these files may be included in your own backups under that provider's terms.
5. Camera, microphone and screen
- Camera and microphone: used only as live inputs you add. The operating system asks for your permission first, and you can change it at any time in System Settings (macOS) or Settings → Privacy & security (Windows).
- Screen, window and part-of-the-screen capture (for example a Zoom window or a slide app): used only when you add such an input, with the operating system's screen-recording permission (macOS Screen Recording; on Windows the system capture picker).
- Scripture Listen: when you turn it on and choose a microphone, LiveDeck turns speech into text to find Bible references and verses. On the Mac this uses Apple's speech recognition — on the device when the language supports it, otherwise Apple's speech service under Apple's privacy policy; on Windows it uses the built-in offline Windows speech engine. LiveDeck does not upload or keep the audio, and the text is matched only against the Bibles installed on your computer.
- Video and audio from these sources are processed in memory on your computer for your production. They leave your computer only when you stream, record, send NDI®, share over your network or use LiveDeck Camera.
6. Services you choose to use
Some features connect to other companies' services, and only when you use them. The information needed for that request (such as your search words, your IP address and the content you send) goes directly from your computer to that service and is governed by its own privacy policy. We do not receive a copy.
| Feature | What is sent | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| Live streaming | Your program video and audio, and the stream key you entered | The platforms you configure, e.g. YouTube, Facebook or any RTMP server |
| AI Search | Your question, using the API key you entered | The provider you select: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), DeepSeek, Mistral, Perplexity, Groq, or a local/custom server such as Ollama |
| Image and video search | Your search words | Openverse, Wikimedia Commons, NASA Image Library, Pexels, Pixabay (the providers you choose) |
| Song lyrics search | Song title and artist words | LRCLIB, Lyrics.ovh; links may open Genius, Musixmatch, Hymnary.org or a web search in your browser |
| Bible downloads and online versions | The translation and chapter you request (and your API.Bible key, if you entered one) | Free Use Bible API (bible.helloao.org), API.Bible |
| AI Design | Your description and the API key you entered | The provider you select: OpenAI, Google (Gemini), Stability AI, Runway or Luma |
| Web video | Your search words and normal player requests | YouTube, Vimeo, Pexels, Pixabay, Internet Archive, Wikimedia Commons |
| Dictionary | The word you look up | Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev), Datamuse, Wiktionary |
| Web page and network stream inputs | Normal web or stream requests for the address you enter | The website or stream server you open |
| Update check | Your platform and app version | Our release server (no identifier of you or your computer) |
| Zoom | See Zoom features | Zoom Communications, Inc. |
7. Local network features
- NDI® (a technology of Vizrt NDI AB): when you turn on NDI output or add an NDI source, LiveDeck discovers and exchanges video and audio with NDI devices on your local network. The NDI runtime included with LiveDeck operates under the NDI SDK licence.
- LiveDeck Link: when you turn on sharing, LiveDeck announces the station name you choose on your local network and exchanges messages, on-air status and the files you send with other LiveDeck computers you connect to. An optional passcode can be required. This traffic stays on your local network.
- RTMP receiver: when you enable it, LiveDeck accepts a video stream sent to your computer (for example from Zoom's custom live-streaming feature).
The operating system asks for your permission before LiveDeck uses your local network.
8. Zoom features
- Joining with the Zoom app / capturing a Zoom window: LiveDeck opens the Zoom app with the meeting link you enter and, if you add the window as an input, captures that window's picture and sound on your computer. Your use of Zoom is governed by Zoom's Privacy Statement.
- Zoom inside LiveDeck (direct download edition): LiveDeck uses the Zoom Meeting SDK to join the meeting you choose with the display name you enter. The meeting connection, including your participation, is provided by Zoom under Zoom's terms and privacy statement. LiveDeck receives participants' video and audio only when the meeting host allows it (co-host or recording permission) and uses it only on your computer for your production. Your Zoom SDK credentials and any ZAK or On-Behalf-Of tokens are kept in the Keychain / Credential Manager or in memory and are sent only to Zoom.
Please respect meeting participants' privacy: tell them when their video or voice will be recorded, streamed or shown to an audience, and follow the host's and your organisation's rules.
9. LiveDeck Camera
LiveDeck Camera is a virtual camera installed with your approval. It passes the program picture from LiveDeck to the video apps you select it in (such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or FaceTime). The picture travels between LiveDeck and the camera on your computer; what those apps then do with it is governed by their own privacy policies. LiveDeck Camera does not access your real cameras and does not collect any information.
10. Trial and purchases
Direct download: the 14-day trial is time-based and needs no registration; its start date is kept on your computer (Keychain on the Mac, the registry on Windows) so that it does not restart after a reinstall. When you activate a key, the app sends the key, a hashed machine identifier, the computer name and the app version to this website, and re-checks about once a day while online. Purchases are described in section 3. Mac App Store / Microsoft Store editions: the free trial and the purchase are handled entirely by Apple or Microsoft through their store and your Apple ID or Microsoft account. LiveDeck only asks the store whether the trial or purchase is active. We never receive your name, email address or payment details from a store purchase. Apple's and Microsoft's privacy statements apply to store transactions.
11. Crash reports and diagnostics
LiveDeck has no crash-reporting or analytics service of its own. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in macOS or Windows, Apple or Microsoft may provide us with crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you. You can turn this off at any time. Diagnostic logs written by LiveDeck, NDI or the Zoom SDK stay on your computer. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, time) for security, rotated after 30 days.
12. Security
- Secrets such as API keys and Zoom credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager.
- Connections to online services use encrypted HTTPS/TLS wherever the service supports it. RTMP streaming and some local-network video protocols may be unencrypted by design; use RTMPS and a trusted network where possible.
- The Mac App Store edition runs in Apple's App Sandbox and can open only the files you choose.
- LiveDeck Link supports a shared passcode so other computers on your network cannot connect without it.
- On this website, all pages are served over HTTPS, passwords are never stored (sign-in links instead), and download links are signed and expire.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please protect your computer with a password and keep your operating system up to date.
13. Keeping and deleting data
Because your production data stays on your computer, you control how long it is kept:
- Delete individual items (songs, media, presets, recordings) inside the app or in Finder / File Explorer.
- Remove AI API keys by clearing them in the app; remove Zoom credentials in the Zoom meeting window or with Keychain Access / Credential Manager.
- To remove everything, delete the app and its data: on macOS
~/Library/Application Support/LiveDeck(direct download) or~/Library/Containers/com.shamaapps.livedeck(App Store); on Windows%APPDATA%\LiveDeck— plus your recordings folder. - To remove LiveDeck Camera, use Outputs → LiveDeck Camera → Uninstall, or delete the app.
Order and licence records are kept while your licence is valid and for the period accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time; a licence cannot be used after its record is deleted.
14. Children
LiveDeck is a professional production tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
15. Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, or US state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act — you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data and to complain to a data protection authority. For the app there is normally nothing for us to provide or delete; your data remains under your control on your computer. For orders and licences, email us and we will provide, correct or delete your records within 30 days, subject to records we must keep by law.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change how LiveDeck or this website handles information, we will update this page and the effective date above, and describe significant changes in the app's release notes. If a future feature needs to collect personal information, we will ask for your consent in the app first.
