How can we help?

Answers for switching, songs and scripture, streaming, NDI®, Zoom, licences and more. Can't find it? We reply within two working days.

Help inside the app: press ⌘? (Mac) or F1 (Windows), or click Find a tool (⌘K / Ctrl+K) in the top bar for step-by-step help on every feature. Before each service, press CHECK to test inputs, audio, disk space and streaming.

Getting started

  1. Add your inputs. Click Add Input (or the + on an empty holder) and choose cameras, screen capture, videos, images, a playlist, Songs & Bible, NDI® sources or Zoom.
  2. Put something on Program. Click PVW on an input to preview it, then CUT or AUTO to take it live. The switcher buttons under the monitors work from any tab.
  3. Show lyrics or scripture. Open Songs & Bible, choose a song or type a reference (e.g. John 3:16), click a slide, then Key PGM to place the words over your camera.
  4. Set up audio. In the Input panel choose each input's microphone or audio device; balance levels in Audio Mixer. Watch the AUDIO meter in the status bar.
  5. Go live. Click REC to record, STREAM to stream (add your stream key first), and PROGRAM OUT for the projector. The status bar shows time on air, signal strength and recording space.

Trial, licences and purchase

How does the 14-day free trial work?

Download LiveDeck Studio and every feature is unlocked for 14 days — no card, no account. The days left appear in the top bar. When the trial ends, buy a licence and enter your key; your shows, songs and settings are kept.

How do I buy LiveDeck Studio?

On the pricing page: choose Mac, Windows or the bundle and pay with card, mobile money or bank transfer via Paystack. Prices are in USD; your card is charged the GHS equivalent at checkout. Your licence key is emailed immediately and shown on the thank-you page.

Where do I enter my licence key?Direct download

Open Settings → Licence (gear menu), paste LDS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and click Activate. Activation needs internet once; afterwards the app checks quietly about once a month.

How many computers can I activate?

A Mac licence includes 1 activation, a Windows licence 2 and the Mac + Windows bundle 2 (for example one Mac and one PC). Re-activating the same computer does not use another seat. To move to a new machine, deactivate the old one in Settings → Licence or online via Find my licence. If a machine died, you can also deactivate it there.

I lost my licence key

Go to Find my licence, enter the email you used at checkout and we send a sign-in link (valid 30 minutes). You can copy your key, resend the licence email and manage activations there.

Can I get a refund?

Email us within 14 days of purchase, with the licence activated on at most one machine, for a full refund — see the licence terms.

I got a new computer or reinstalled. How do I get my purchase back?

Install the latest version and enter your key again (deactivate the old machine first if you are out of seats).

Permissions

My camera or microphone doesn't appear
  1. Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera (or Microphone) → turn on LiveDeck Studio. Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Camera / Microphone → allow desktop apps.
  2. Quit and reopen LiveDeck.
  3. For capture cards and USB audio interfaces, reconnect the device, then use Add Input → Cameras & Capture Devices.
Screen capture or a Zoom window shows black

Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording → turn on LiveDeck Studio, then quit and reopen LiveDeck. Minimised windows cannot be captured — keep the window open (it may be behind other windows). Windows: windows protected by DRM or running as administrator cannot be captured; try capturing the whole display instead.

NDI sources or other LiveDeck computers are not found
  1. Mac: allow Local Network access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. Windows: allow LiveDeck Studio through Windows Defender Firewall for private networks.
  2. If asked to allow incoming connections, choose Allow.
  3. All computers must be on the same network. Guest or hotel Wi-Fi often blocks devices from seeing each other — use a normal network or a wired switch.
Files from an old show won't openApp Store

The App Store edition can open only files you have chosen. Add the video or image again (or drop it onto the window) once — LiveDeck remembers it from then on.

Songs, Bible and slides

How do I add Bibles?

In Songs & Bible → Bible click Get Bibles… to download free translations, or Import file… for Bibles you are licensed to use (JSON, Zefania/OSIS XML, USFM, CSV, .ldbible, a folder or a .zip). You can also drop Bible files onto the Bible area.

How do I find a verse when I only remember some words?

Type the words in the Bible box (e.g. the lord is my). Matching verses appear as you type, best matches first, with your words highlighted and the phrase completed for you. Put words in quotes for an exact phrase. Themes such as healing or fear suggest well-known passages.

How do I import songs or find lyrics?

In Songs choose Import… (ProPresenter, OpenLyrics, text and more) or Find online to search lyrics. Make sure your church has the right licence (for example CCLI) to display and stream songs.

How do I change the background or text style of slides?

Open the Format panel next to the slides: choose a Look, then set Background (colour, image, video or Library… for downloaded and generated media), text style and layout (full screen or lower third). Save it with Save look… to reuse.

Streaming and recording

How do I stream to YouTube or Facebook?
  1. Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio or Facebook Live Producer.
  2. Click STREAM → add a destination and paste them.
  3. Under Quality & audio choose resolution, video bitrate (e.g. 4.5 Mb/s for 1080p30) and audio bitrate (160–192 kb/s for worship).
  4. Click Go live. The status bar shows LIVE, signal bars and dropped frames.
The stream keeps dropping or shows “Poor”

Your upload speed is too low for the chosen bitrate. Lower the video bitrate or stream resolution (720p is fine on slower internet), use a wired connection, and stop other uploads on the network. LiveDeck reconnects automatically if the connection drops.

Where are my recordings saved?

In your Movies (Mac) or Videos (Windows) folder by default. Change it in the gear menu → Choose recording folder…, and open the latest file with Reveal last recording. Press M while recording to add chapter markers; a chapters file for YouTube is saved next to the video.

Will LiveDeck keep running if the computer is left alone?

Yes. While streaming, recording or showing outputs, LiveDeck prevents sleep, display sleep and the screen saver (status bar shows POWER · Staying awake). Closing a laptop lid will still put it to sleep.

Projectors, NDI® and LiveDeck Camera

How do I send Program to a projector or LED wall?

Connect the display, then Outputs → External Displays and turn it on. Under Output settings you can set a custom area (for LED processors), letterbox / crop / squeeze, crop edges and the output resolution. The status-bar Outputs button turns every output on or off quickly.

How do I send or receive NDI?

Send: Outputs → NDI® Output → Send Program over NDI. Other systems (OBS, vMix, TriCaster, NDI Studio Monitor) see it on the network.
Receive: Add Input → NDI® Source… → Add as input. Low bandwidth helps on slower networks.

How do I use LiveDeck as a camera in Zoom, Teams or Google Meet?
  1. Mac: make sure LiveDeck Studio is in your Applications folder. Outputs → LiveDeck Camera → Install LiveDeck Camera, then approve it in System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Camera Extensions. Windows: Outputs → LiveDeck Camera → Install (registers a virtual camera driver).
  2. Turn on Send Program to LiveDeck Camera.
  3. In Zoom: Settings → Video → Camera → LiveDeck Camera, and turn off “Mirror my video”.

The camera carries video only. For sound, select your mixer or audio interface as the microphone in the meeting app.

Zoom meetings

How do I show a Zoom meeting in LiveDeck?

Add Input → Zoom Meeting / App Window…: paste the meeting link, click Join in Zoom app, then add the meeting window as an input with its audio. Crop the Zoom toolbar in the Input panel.

How do I use each Zoom participant as a separate input?Direct download

Add Input → Zoom Meeting — built in…. Join the meeting, then the host must make “LiveDeck Studio” a co-host or click Allow when it asks to record. Each participant can then be added as an input with their own voice. Meetings on another organisation's Zoom account need extra authorisation required by Zoom.

Teamwork and settings

Can I change keyboard shortcuts?

Yes — gear menu → Keyboard shortcuts…. Click a shortcut and press new keys; Smart setup fills or resets them.

How do I move my setup to another computer?

Save a preset (Presets → Save current…) and use Export…, then Import… it on the other machine. Songs and media can also be sent over LiveDeck Link. Remember to deactivate the licence on the old machine if you are out of seats.

LiveDeck closed unexpectedly — did I lose my setup?

No. LiveDeck saves your setup every minute. When you reopen it, a banner offers Restore session.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to do
Menus close or the app feels slowUpdate to the latest version. Close other heavy apps, remove unused inputs and web pages, and check the fps readout in the status bar.
Low frame rate (e.g. 18/30 fps)Lower the resolution or frame rate (gear menu), use fewer 4K inputs, turn off unused NDI outputs, and plug in the power adapter.
No sound in the recording or streamCheck that the master isn't MUTED (status bar), that inputs have an audio device assigned, and that channel faders are up in Audio Mixer.
Echo in ZoomDon't send Zoom's own audio back into the meeting. Zoom audio in LiveDeck is kept out of your speakers by default; use headphones for monitoring.
Stream won't startCheck the stream key and URL, and open the stream details (click the LIVE indicator) for the error message.
Projector shows nothingOutputs → Refresh, check the display is on in External Displays, and make sure Program isn't in BLACK (fade to black).
LiveDeck Camera is missing in ZoomQuit Zoom completely and reopen it; confirm the camera is approved and Send Program is on.
“Licence could not be verified”Check your internet connection, then Settings → Licence → Refresh. If the key was revoked or all seats are used, manage activations or contact us.
